We are always facing many challenges at work, some of them are easy, some of them are difficult. The difficult challenge requires us putting more energy and effort in many aspects. We need to ask for cooperation from different teams in different functions, various locations and even different businesses. We need to break a complex challenge into small cases and solve the issue, one by one and step by step. We need to adjust the plans from time to time, find the most important and urgent task, leading the way to the ultimate target. We need to motivate the whole team especially in most difficult situations. We need to be patient, be diligent, be resourceful, be positive and stick to the true value. With all these small pieces done, everyone will definitely grow to a new level.

What do you like about your job and the company?
In every project, the customer will ask for some different functions according to the different operational requirements. For a solution with many legacies, every change, every new application and every new function is always a challenge. In the whole process of dealing with challenges, we can find all kinds of good attributes from the team, team spirit, collaboration, inclusiveness, open mind discussions, compromises when necessary...and finally, get the work done. When we are dealing with the project and issues, ultimately, we are dealing with people. I'm strongly motivated when I see the team I'm working with can deliver what they are supposed to deliver and can achieve self-satisfaction in their working life.

Shanghai L15 and L18 are two lines with lots of new driverless functions required by customer. At the same time, customer asked us to open the line with full function from the 1st day of operation. For each of the new functions, we've done analysing, discussion, brainstorming with the partner and the customer to make sure we are in line with each other regarding the understanding of the true needs of the function to support better operation and provide better service to the public. With all the hard work done by the team, after the line opened, I took a train randomly on these two lines and saw the passengers crowded at the front or end of the train, exploring the tunnel and checking how the the train can move and stop without any staff - it gave me lots of pleasure and satisfaction, I can see how my work contributes to the society and brings light to people's lives.
