Karlee S.

Below is a rundown of how our program works here at college, and I would love to be able to talk further about how we could both help each other out. We are a senior high school with a difference. While our year 11 and 12 students are studying towards their HSC, they are also working toward a Certificate II in their chosen trade Electrotechnology, Automotive, Construction and Metals/Engineering. As part of the program our students must undertake work experience in their trade to meet the course outcomes and achieve their HSC. Our students hold a white card, current first aid certificate and our electro and construction students will also have their working at heights qualification. Our year 12 students are at college 2 days per week, and our year 11 students are at college 3 days per week. The other 2 days for year 11 and 3 days for year 12 are spent out on work experience. This year our year 12 students attend the workplace on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. and our year 11 students will attend on Monday and Tuesday (please note year 12 finishes at the end of term 3) Our placements are generally 1 term (10 weeks) in length. There is no cost to the employer to host our students, and they are covered under our insurances (attached for your reference) for the duration of the placement. There is also the option of a School Based Traineeship (SBAT) which means the student becomes one of your employees and stays with you for Work placement for the remainder of the student’s enrolment here at Hunter Trade College (more information attached) If you think you would love to host one of our students and help educate to keep our trades thriving, or if you any questions at all regarding our placement or our SBAT program please give me a call on 0439 727 089. It would also be no trouble for me to pop out if you prefer. Kind regards
